KHANGSAR - Guardian to Tilicho

  • 3,740 meters

Khangsar, or as is traditionally called Ngaba, is one of the older villages in the region and it sure has the charm to match. Also compared to other villages, this one still has that rustic charm going for it. It is also home to one of the oldest monasteries in the region the Tahrap Monastery and it is also surmised that the village originally started as a monastic settlement.

As of now, this village is popular as a side trip for those staying in Manang or as a lunch spot for those making their way to the amazing lake of Tilicho. The valley that Khangsar stands guard to is also one of the best spots in Manang for Snow Leopards.
