DEBOCHE - Quieter sister of Tengboche

  • 3,740 meters

Like Tengboche, Deboche is a monastic settlement established by Lama Gulu for the benefit of nuns. It is also a quiet alternative to Tengboche and while the views aren't as great, the forest is much better. It also has the added advantage of being less windy and 120m lower than Tengboche.

There is a small gompa here which while nowhere as regal as the one at Tengboche, has better frescos.
